All of the wedding cakes on this page are
displayed in out of the ordinary set-ups. Most, but not all, are on
special cake stands. We also now have 3 silver cake plateaus to enhance
more traditional set-up wedding cakes.
This very pretty wedding cake is covered with pastel
buttercream roses
and buds which coordinated very nicely with the table centerpieces which
were bowls of pastel fresh roses. This cake is shown on the
"floating tiers" cake stand. One of the nice things
about this cake is that it is totally edible, another is that it is very easy
to serve.

This unusual setting works great for making an otherwise
small wedding cake look big. This is the "I Do" stand with
a fountain on the lowest stand and then an arch topping off the whole
setting.
Unusual # 2
|
This beautiful wedding cake is a 5-tier "I Do"
set-up but it is arranged in an arch shaped setting and the cakes are
covered with gumpaste flowers. More fresh flowers were added below
the stands for even more beauty.
Unusual # 3
|
This
wedding cake had fresh flowers arranged around the base and between the
tiers to hide the support under the 3rd tier so it looked as if the cake
was suspended above the 6" cakes arranged around the
base.
Note that the grooms cake is done in the same pattern but with
chocolate icing and chocolate dipped strawberries.

Sometimes we get requests to do unusual
set-ups. These are a few examples of such set-ups. a couple of our
stands are known as "Floating on Air" and the "I DO"
stand. These are both very popular for a couple of reasons. One is
that there are no pillars or columns involved to complicate cutting the
cake. The other is their stability and a third is that part of the cake
can still be on display while another part is being cut.
This wedding cake is shown on the "I Do" cake
stand but features all buttercream icing flowers and a basketweave
background. Very pretty and totally edible.

For this wedding cake the bride had chosen navy as her
wedding color .
Not wanting the cake to look so dark she chose to make the cake all white
with just a few navy accents and tied it all together with navy ribbons
connecting the 4 satellites. She also chose to put her topper in
between the tiers instead of on top.
Unusual # 6
|
This is a bit unusual but very nice way to connect the
wedding cake to the groom's cake.
Unusual # 7

This
beautiful setting features the "I Do" set-up which includes the
flower towers. The design on this cake is a lacy doily-like
decoration for a truly unforgettable wedding cake. Take Note
of the beautiful greenery behind the cake which really helps set off
the white and yellow of the cake and the flowers.

What makes this lovely wedding cake so unusual is the base
which is made up of 5 Satellite cakes placed just under the largest center
cake. It is also all made up of dummy cakes on the bottom to make an
otherwise average sized cake appear much larger than it actually is.
This cake is also covered with hand-made gumpaste flowers. A truly
beautiful wedding cake .

This is a 3-tiered example of the "I Do"
wedding cake. It is totally covered with buttercream icing
flowers.
Unusual # 10

This is another example of the "I Do" cake stand,
also with buttercream icing flowers and pearl sprays .
Unusual # 11

This unusual set-up features a 3-tiered cake sitting on
top of 5 6" rounds. It also features white gumpaste roses with
royal blue ribbons and silver beads on the sides of the cake inserted into
swags. This is one way of incorporating silver and navy and still
keeping a truly elegant look to the cake.

This
is a cheesecake wedding cake. The wedding color was navy so the
bride chose to put blueberry filling on top of the all the
cheesecakes. YUM!
Unusual # 13
|
This shows that even square cakes can look nice on the I Do
stand. We have done heart shapes on it as well.

Here
is an example of a cupcake wedding cake. They still had their
6" topper for their anniversary but have yellow and chocolate
cupcakes for the guests. This is displayed on our tall tiers cake
stand. This has become a popular alternative to regular wedding
cakes.

Here is one more I Do
set-up, this one with fondant seashells in a mostly blue color
scheme. Note that granulated brown sugar was added below the stands
for even more of a beach look.
Unusual # 16
|
This
unusual wedding cake was actually key-lime tarts and the 6" top tier
had key-lime filling.
unusual #17 |
This
3-tiered heart shaped cake is shown on the "floating on air"
stand.
unusual #18 |
This
was actually a grooms cake but we have done several of these
"lighthouses" as wedding cakes and they really light up!
unusual #19 |
This is a cheesecake with cream cheese icing done in the
"fondant-look" finished off with a gumpaste bow and cascading
ribbons.
unusual #20 |
| This wedding cake is actually a key-lime cheesecake cut
into wedges and displayed in an attractive starburst pattern. It is
all ready to serve without cutting.
unusual #21 |
This is a close-up of the wedding cake at left. |
This wedding cake was done to replicate the Cape Hatteras
lighthouse, which was a favorite of the bride and groom. It is
surrounded with molded chocolate seashells .
unusual # 22 |
Another cupcake wedding cake. This one was done
with bright colored flowers and is topped off by an extra-large 6"
cupcake for the wedding couple to keep for their first
anniversary.
